I cannot pretend to know what you are going through or of the circumstances that have led you to this place. I am honored that you are taking the time to read my profile and learn a little bit about me. Becoming a mother would make me the happiest person in the world because all my dreams would come true. However, I would like you to know that regardless of the path that lies before you, I admire you and the courage you have for considering adoption. I will be praying for you as you go through this journey, and hope you feel an overwhelming peace when making this beautiful and hard decision. I hope my profile gives you a sense of who I am and the life and love I would provide a child.

I know what I’m about to say is going to sound crazy unless you believe the way I do. I am a Christian and I have always dreamt of having children some day. One night in prayer, I asked God why I haven’t met the right guy to marry and start a family with. As clear as if someone was talking to me from across the table, I heard the word “Adoption”. From that moment on, I have known  that adopting a child is something I have to do, something I was called to do.

FAQ’s about placing a baby for Adoption

I'm considering giving my baby up for adoption. How much does that cost?

It won't cost you anything. If you choose to place your baby for adoption, all of your medical and legal fees will be covered and you may be eligible for financial assistance with other pregnancy-related expenses.

I'm experiencing an unplanned pregnancy and don't know who the birth father is. Can I still place my baby for adoption?

Yes. Even if you don’t know the identity of the birth father, you can still choose to make an adoption plan. However, every adoption situation is different. The adoption social worker you’re assigned to will get to know you and your story first, and then guide you through the process accordingly.

When is the right time to talk with an adoption professional?

You can make an adoption plan at any point in your pregnancy, even after the baby has been born. But, it's important to start the process as early in your pregnancy as possible. Connecting with those resources will allow you to gain access to important medical services, including prenatal care, to help ensure a healthy pregnancy.

When I create an adoption plan, will I get to choose who is in the room with me during delivery?

One aspect of your adoption plan is the "Hospital Plan" an outline of how you'd like your hospital stay and delivery to go. You can craft this on your own or with the help of your adoption social worker. But everything is up to you. You’ll be able to choose who comes to the hospital with you, who is in the room with you during delivery, and how much time you’d like to spend with the baby before signing the final papers.

How much contact will I have with the adoptive family after I place my baby with them?

As part of your adoption plan, you'll determine whether or not you’d like to have an open or closed adoption or something in between. Open adoptions may include phone calls, messaging (via social media, email, or text), and/or periodic visits each year. Closed adoptions may include no contact at all or annual updates provided to the birth parent(s) by the adoptive family. Each post-adoption relationship is different and can vary based on what an expectant mother chooses in her adoption plan.

My Blog

About Me

Hey, my name's Brittany.  I've never written a blog before, but I have written in a journal and have had some sort of journal/diary since I pretty much was able to write and form my own thoughts.  So I thought I would consider this blog like my journal and write my thought and feelings ... what I did this week or plan on doing in the next... things that come to mind because of something I saw or maybe a smell that caused a childhood memory to resurface, like holiday traditions and childhood memories.  It will be like an inside view of my life, of me.  A way to get to know me better. So first a little information about me... I am creative, kind, and love animals.  Especially kittens, puppies, and bunnies.  They are just the cutest!  I have a cute, fluffy, sweet kitty named Abby.  She is a rescue, but sometimes I question who rescued who.  I am single, but I am not alone.  I have a wonderful family support system who will be there for me with anything that I may need.  We are very close and care very strongly for eachother! I also have some really...

A Day with Mom and Me

On Saturday, my mom and I went to the farmers market and got a lot of delicious, fresh food.  With my granddaddy being a farmer, I grew up eating fresh fruits and vegitibles...or what I like to call... "real" fruits and vegitibles.  To this day, when talking with my mom, I will say, can we go get some "real" corn for supper tonight? lol. We got 'real' corn, tomattoes, butter beans, peaches, and black berries.  We could have gotten so much more but we were running out of hands.  Next time, we need to remember to bring a basket.   After the farmers market we decided to just hang out and watch movies and relax for the rest of the day.  We watched A Family Affair, the new movie with Zac Efron, Nicole Kidman, and Joey King.  It was really cute and funny.  Another great movie that we love with Zac Efron and Hugh Jackman is The Greatest Showman.  They both are great in it and the music is wonderful as well.  After watching the movies, we started cooking supper, fresh (real) corn, butter beans, tomattoes, and some chicken.  Delicious!  I'm already looking forward to the next weekend where we...
